Native Speaker is the original indie pop-rock project of New Jersey/New York-based singer-songwriter and musician Daniel Sing. Blending blissful melodies with poignant, reflective lyrics, Native Speaker crafts bold yet melancholic anthems that explore time, relationships, change, movement, uncertainty, and identity. With a sound rooted in melodic indie, acoustic, and folk-rock traditions, Sing’s music captures both the intimacy of a quiet confession and the urgency of an emotional crescendo. Though his performances radiate warmth and sincerity, Sing lets the songs speak for themselves, each one a dog-eared chapter in an ongoing story of searching and becoming.Since 2011, Native Speaker has brought his heartfelt originals to life across an array of celebrated NYC-area venues, including The Bitter End, Maxwell’s Tavern, Northern Soul, Sidewalk Café, and Crossroads, among many others. Since 2012, Sing has become a familiar face in the city’s underground music scene, along with his grassroots busking sessions at Times Square, Columbus Circle, Union Square, Washington Square Park, and along the Hoboken Waterfront.
